Values alignment ensures that actions, decisions, and objectives reflect core principles, creating a cohesive, purpose-driven culture that connects individual aspirations with organizational success.

Practical Exercise: The “ALIGN Check” Method

Before making a key decision or taking action, ensure alignment with values using this quick ALIGN check:

  1. Assess Core Values – Which personal or organizational values apply here?

    • Example: “Integrity and accountability are key values in this situation.”
  2. Link to Purpose – How does this decision align with long-term goals?

    • Example: “This choice supports transparency and strengthens team trust.”
  3. Identify Gaps – Are there any conflicts between values and the planned action?

    • Example: “If I avoid addressing this issue, I am not upholding accountability.”
  4. Guide with Integrity – What is the right course of action based on values?

    • Example: “I will address this concern directly and with fairness.”
  5. Navigate & Adapt – Monitor the impact and adjust if needed.

    • Example: “After implementing this, I’ll gather feedback to ensure alignment.”

Action Step: Before your next major decision, run it through the ALIGN Check to ensure it reflects core values and reinforces a purpose-driven culture.
